Bio

Anni Kumari is a visual artist, art educator, and independent researcher. She is the editor of online magazine JAGA, founder of Steetwaks( Reg.NGO). She has been a faculty at Ashoka University, College of Art, Delhi and State University of Performing & Visual Arts, Rohtak and has worked on research projects as part of fellowships by  Sahapedia-UNESCO, Centre for Civil Society, Ministry of Culture (GoI) and the University Grants Commission. A  grantee at Lalit Kala Akademi,   Spic Macay and Artreach India, her works overlap research, community outreach, pedagogy, and studio-based practice. 

Anni studied Politics at Miranda House and Painting at the College of Art, Delhi University. She has been an artist in residence at the Piramal Art Foundation( Mumbai), Art for Change Foundation( Delhi) and the ITM University(Baroda). Her works have been exhibited at institutions and galleries in India, including the British Council, German Embassy, Alliance Francaise, India International Centre, Art District XIII, Art Positive, Niv Art Centre (Delhi), OED Gallery (Kochi) and Lalith Kala Academy (Kozhikode).
